New Idea thanks to Liz W (Charlie looks like he has had a haircut.) This is the issue that proudly says the pictures were taken aboard the Oceana, a yacht Russell "splashed out on recently as an early Christmas present." Totally false, as Russell himself has said. They own no yacht. Ah the fantasy world of gossip magazines!

Charlie's Second Birthday

People Magazine Thanks to Chats

From Bruno Press - Venice 2005

11/23/05 - In another press conference article from the Telegraph, he said this about Charlie: He spoke fondly of his family, saying of his son Charlie: "He seems to have developed a fake giggle, he's working out his flirting things and he knows the coquettish smile works well and he's developing a wink. He gets his looks from his mother, lucky devil.'' - Thanks Chats

Update 11/03/05 from Russell (London):

so suddenly charlie says sentences.yesterday he said,"daddy shut the door "and today he said "i don't think so".the weather has been rubbish the last two days, very strong winds etcso we've been inside singing songs and doing the hokey pokey... 'cause that's what it's all about

****************************************************

Update 7/31/05 from Russell:

charlie has lots to say,it's hard to keep up,he is now exploring 3-4 syllable words like helicopter.he is climbing on everything, stacking his toys to get over his play room fence.

he has two goldfish which he collectively calls nemo.

it's a toss up between the hairy mc clary dvd (region 2)/ shrek 2/ nemo for favourite dvd.charlie only gets to watch tv after his bath before bedtime so he likes to concentrate.

he has had his fringe trimmed quite a bit,by a lady with pink hair called dotti.we have cut his fringe, but not his curls. without cutting his fringe he wouldn't be able to see where he was going. we did the dvd trick too, [I had said that my daughter had the Baby Mozart DVD on while our Griffin got his first hair cut] put shrek on and he doesn't even notice it's being cut. when his hair is wet it is very long.

charlie and i have been watching all the souths games with cm on their jersey's and they keep winning! get this,we just beat the bulldogs! irony huh? they were last years competition winners. charlie has a little souths jumper and he loves the rabbit emblem,he has two flags which he waves in a demented fashion that is endlessly amusing.

dear charlie,
my beautiful boy.
this time last year i was on top of the ridge on mt.lourene that runs along the back of the farm.it was 3 1/2 weeks before you were due.
when i saw two vehicles peeling into the back paddocks my heart started racing,i knew you were coming.it took me 40mins to get to the first car.then we went to our emergency 'get back to sydney'plan.however, the best laid plans of mice and men don't mean a damn.
the helicopter was held up fuelling,in that time the wind rose to a 60-70km/ph headwind coming from the south.it took 3 1/2 hours to do a 2 hour flight.
your mother's waters broke at 8.30 or so in the morning,i saw the cars around 9am,got to the main house around 10,chopper booked to arrive at 11,didn't get to the farm until 1pm,we landed in sydney at 4.30 i was just hoping your mum hadn't left for the hospital without me,she hadn't.she had waited.everything happened very fast after that.
we got to the hospital around 5.30,they were sure pleased to see your mum, they'd been expecting her hours before.
she had her parents and a midwife urging her to go to the hospital, but she didn't want to go to the hospital without your dad,she was super cool and stuck to the plan.
you were born at 7 mins to 7 on the 21st of december, one year ago today and i can truly tell you it has been the most wonderful year of our lives.you are a very special little boy,so affectionate and lovely.
i'm going to wake you up in a minute and give you your 1st birthday bottle, then later mum and i will take you on the harbour for breakfast, this afternoon your grandparents will come over and spoil the birthday boy rotten.

thankyou for coming into my life charlie boonker. i love you.
Dad.

Murph,
It is with wonder and astonishment that I notice you still haven't posted photo's of Charlie.
I know you said you wouldn't,and,it's not that I would ever doubt your word, but very few people these days see value in your type of loyalty.I do.I hold it above all else.
You are truly a person of your word, and a woman of honour.
We avoid the paparazzi if we can, however we also want to live our lives and not be bound to the cover of darkness to take him for a walk
Here's the thing,we have accepted a certain invasion of privacy is inevitable. You won't be being disloyal to us by running the shots that a magazine has already run,so go ahead.
Is it just me or is he not a beautiful, botticelli baby?
His latest words, duck,da(dog) also woo( dog as in woof woof),puku (maori for stomach).
all the best,
Russell.
