From Russell 7/28/09

From Russell:So I'm told there's many about who took the tone of my e-mail to you re song lyrics seriously. Obviously that was just a note between us in a tone that I thought you would find amusing.  I sent you the lyrics because you asked for them not because of any desire to correct or criticize anyone else.
I don't know how anyone could take what I wrote as anything but a self deprecating  send up , but there you go.
Let's just wind this back for a moment. Dave's mum died, I wrote him a song, Mr Doyle sang it beautifully, DK is "proud" so many people and friends around the world are getting to hear it.
You can tell all your readers from me I'm glad they liked getting to hear the song and all of us appreciate their appreciation. I know the song is bringing Dave some comfort because that's what he told me and really that was the one and only point. I'm really sorry that anyone was hurt or made sad by any of this. Not the intention at all. - RC

A lovely song Russell wrote for Dave Kelly in memory of his mom, Mother's Cross, sung by Alan Doyle - Lyrics HERE
