From CGee:

It was a nice interview, not too long.

He talked about the concert and then mostly about AGY and Tenderness.

To paraphrase, he said Tenderness is a story of obsession. A man is in prison for certain crimes but a detective is obsessed with bringing him to justice for all of the crimes he committed.

He said AGY was a comedy of manners with a lot of physical comedy. His character is very much involved with himself only and with making money in the beginning. In the end as he gets in touch with his past and the life he led in Provence as a kid, and with the simple values that his uncle had taught him, he learns to accept love and change his life.

Like I said, just the gist. He did talk about being arrested in their 'fair city' and the first line of Testify came out of that. The DJ's did some mild joking about it but he really didn't. He talked about Johnny Cash and he said he now owned two of JC's Grammys one for Folsom and one for a spoken word album he bought after the Cash family auctioned things off.

From Chats:

I think the interview went well, certainly better than I expected, as Russell has been a favorite target of their jokes.

Talk of the arrest was light-hearted and done in a joking manner. The woman DJ even said "all for a scratch on the face."

Talked about the name change of the band and that the arrest was the inspiration for Testify. Russell LOVES that the concert hall resembles a church complete with pews.

DJs mentioned Dani's new album. Russell joked she's been working on it for two years but keeps getting interrupted by pregnancies. DJs joke that Russell just needs to keep his hands off her. All laugh.

Talked about AGY and Tenderness. No mention of AG.

Talked about Johnny Cash being an influence (Russell now owns two of his Grammys, won via an auction after his death). Talked about Walk the Line and JP performance.

Russell started the interview by asking about the weather (on off rain the rest of this week) so he may be headed over here soon.

Oh, Scott, head DJ guy, started the interview by saying he LOVED CM and thought Russell was robbed.

Overall, DJs were very complimentary of Russell's acting and of Testify. Played only a snippet of WOAM and Testify. No full songs.
