Has anyone told these reviewers that the so called "legend of King
Arthur" with magic and grails and all that rubbish is a figment of
a 15th century scholar's imagination?
2. Can't they see past flouncy dresses, swooning, and polished armour? 3. Do they not realise that documented British history extends back over 2000 years and not just back to medieval times? No doubt they would have preferred if the lead had been played by Kevin Costner who engineers it so the Saxons are really our friends and we all join and hold hands together. Well, here's a small lesson for the critics....Britain was forged through blood, conflict, and invasion. The Romans were real, as were their Sarmation cavalry. Sure, this story has embellished elements, but the basic folk lore remains. The critics rubbish the fact that the Sarmations believed in reincarnating as a war horse. They can laugh all they like...it was their belief, as was the reverence to the sword planted in the ground. These are not stories written by a 15thC writer to inject a little romance in a dark world, they were a strongly held faith, as strong as any religion can be. A message for the critics. Crucify the acting if you must, but crucifying the beliefs of a dead race is not clever, and neither are you. Mark |
